InterGen Innovators: a free six-week intergenerational AI program

InterGen Innovators is a six-week program where generations come together to learn AI and solve real problems. Students share technical fluency, older adults bring decades of lived experience, and mixed-age teams build prototypes with industry mentors.

What participants do

Teams work through a structured curriculum covering AI tools and immersive technology, then apply them to challenges in aging and caregiving. Each week combines instruction, hands-on practice, and team collaboration, ending with prototypes that address aging in place.

Students share tech skills while older adults contribute life experience and judgement, which produces better ideas than either group reaches alone.

Who it is for and what it costs

The program is open to high school and college students and to older adults, with no prior AI experience required. It is free to join.

Cohorts are deliberately small so every team gets mentor attention, which means places are limited and the schedule matters. The current schedule is published on this page.

After the program

Graduates can continue in the VillageCore alumni community, move into mentorship roles, or carry their prototypes into the Invention Lab where AgeTech products are validated with real users.

It runs for six weeks and is free to join.

Do I need experience with AI to take part?

No. The curriculum starts with the basics of AI and immersive technology, and teams pair people with different skill levels on purpose.

Who can apply?
