Skilling: build digital and AI skills at any age

Skilling is VillageCore's route into technology for people who were never handed a manual. Learners choose a track, work with subject-matter experts, and leave able to use AI and immersive tools with confidence rather than anxiety.

Course tracks

Participants pick one of two paths: AI Engineering or Augmented Reality. Each covers the basics and then goes further, drawing on multiple sources rather than a single tool.

The aim is to bridge the generational gap in technology by giving both older adults and students the skills to understand and use AI tools well.

How learning is structured

Sessions are guided by experts and paced for people balancing other commitments. Practice is applied to real tasks, which is what makes new tools stick after the program ends.

What learners take away

The goal is not certification, it is confidence: being able to open an AI tool and use it for something you actually wanted to do, without needing someone to sit beside you.

Participants often continue into InterGen Innovators or the mentorship program, where the skills get applied to a real project with a team.
