About VillageCore: our mission, team, and board
VillageCore is a nonprofit built on a simple idea: generations are stronger together than apart. Our leadership team and board bring together technology, caregiving, research, and community organizing to change how aging is designed for.
Our mission
We enable vibrant aging by turning ideas into action. That means running programs where older adults and students learn together, making sure AgeTech products are shaped by the people who use them, and giving caregivers practical support rather than platitudes.
Our leadership team thrives on intergenerational collaboration and diverse perspectives, which is the same principle our programs are built on.
How we are organized
VillageCore is led by an executive team, guided by a board of directors, and supported by an advisory board of practitioners in technology, healthcare, and community work. Program chairs and instructors run individual cohorts, and volunteers support events, mentoring, and research.
Our founder, Yasmin Shah, works in technology, entrepreneurship, and caregiving innovation, and hosts the AgeTech Think Tank podcast.
Working with us
Organizations partner with us on programs, research, and product validation. Individuals join as participants, mentors, or volunteers. Either way the next step is a conversation, not a form letter.
